Core Values

Worship

The Bible says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength." We want our worship experiences at Second to be the best hour of our week. We desire to see participants in our worship experiences will inspired, challenged and motivated as followers of Jesus. (Hebrews 10:24-25; Acts 2:37)

Prayer

We realize that apart from God, we will accomplish nothing. We want to be a church body that is intimate, informed, energized and successful because of our individual and corporate prayer lives. (Matthew 6:5-13;

1 Timothy 2:1-3)

Life Transforming Teaching

We believe that God's Word is dynamic and it has the ability to transform individuals, families, and communities when applied to our lives. We want to clearly and creatively communicate biblical principles, so that it transforms people's daily lives. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Acts 17:22-34)

Authentic Relationships

We are imperfect people who believe that authentic relationships are integral to the life transformation as we follow Jesus. Our Life Groups is one of the main avenues for building those relationships. Life Groups meet regularly to hang out, apply biblical principles and serve the community together. (Acts 2:42-47; Matthew 22:37-39)

Generous Living

God is generous. We are to model our lives after Him. Generous living is modeled through how we care for those around us - giving of our time, our many talents and our treasures. Jesus encourages his followers to live a Plus1 lifestyle - going the extra mile - in our love for God and our neighbors. (Acts 5:13-15; James 2:14-17; 1 Corinthians 9:22)

Leadership Development

We believe in intentionally investing in individuals to develop their gifts & talents for greater impact in their homes, church, and community. (Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 9:1-2)

Excellence

God is a God of excellence. We pursue excellence in all we do to honor God and inspire people. We encourage individuals to know and use their gifts, talents and personality to serve God and the community. (Genesis 1:31a;

Colossians 3:23)
